  1. Choose a university

    Search for an overseas university by destination or institution. Meet with the Exchange Advisors for advice on the best option for you.

  2. Get unit approval

    Complete a Unit Approval Form and have your course coordinator, academic advisor or head of school check and approve your overseas units to ensure you get full credit while overseas.

  3. Complete and submit the Curtin exchange forms

    Make an appointment to meet with an exchange advisor to hand in your documents:

    Your exchange advisor will assess your application.

  5. Complete host institution exchange application

    Once all of your documentation is in order and you have met all of the selection criteria, you will be advised of the application process for the partner institution. This application needs to be completed and returned to your Exchange Advisor to forward to your chosen destination.

  6. Been accepted? Start planning!

    Once you have received notification of your acceptance, you can begin to organise your travel plans. Make sure you wait until your have received your acceptance before making any financial commitments such as plane tickets.

  7. Organise your accommodation

    Accommodation options differ between each institution. Your Student Exchange Advisor will let you know of your institution’s procedures.

  8. Attend the predeparture session

    Before you leave you must attend the compulsory Pre-departure session. You will receive information about your enrolment, your rights and responsibilities, travel insurance and other important information.

  9. Enrolment requirements

    While on exchange, you must maintain a full-time enrolment of 75 or 100 credits. Maintaining your enrolment is your responsibility.
